New Series – Faculty stories of Open Adoption

Back in July, I wrote about adopting an open textbook for my summer course, and received lots of great feedback – and I think many of us are wanting to know what others are doing to adopt open content. I would love to hear about the experiences of other faculty, support staff and students as they adopt, create and use open content.

We have been sharing the stories of other University of Oklahoma faculty adopters on our Alternative Textbook LibGuide  – but as we add new stories, we thought we would also highlight them on our blog.  So, over the next few months, we will be posting one of our existing faculty profiles and launching new ones both in the blog and in the guide.

Which brings me to our next profile – Laura Gibbs!!! – Coming tomorrow to a blog near you……

UPDATE:  I forgot to mention, though he was on my mind, Alan Levine and his quest for the mythical OER reuse posts at CogDogBlog this summer.  These posts are a great read, and the videos are great illustration of the hunt for OER-users out in the wild.  BTW, he found quite a few great stories of the impact of open content on teaching that are links from his posts.
