LaTeX

Lately we have been doing quite a bit of work with LaTeX as part of the Open Textbook Initiative. The Alyssa Hill/Paul Sims Biochemical Methods lab manual, Diana Bariaktarova’s Thermodynamics book, and Milos Savic/Dave Rhen’s Abstract Algebra textbook are all math heavy. The Abstract Algebra textbook is being written entirely in LaTeX, actually. Anyone who does most of their WordPress authoring in the ‘text’ editor rather than the ‘visual’ editor has probably noticed that WordPress often changed your markup. Most of the time for me this is welcome. It usually corrects my mistakes and, in general, makes writing HTML easier. Sometimes; however, the changes it makes can lead to content not being displayed correctly.
